Dr. Alexia decided to study naturopathic medicine in 1995 when she learned there was a truly holistic approach to health care. She had always been intrigued by the philosophy of ancient Greeks where medicine addressed the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of an individual.

Graduating from CCNM in 1999, Dr. Alexia began her private practice and worked extensively in Naturopathic Medical Education – as former Associate Dean of Clinical Studies at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine, and as clinical faculty and lecturer at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine for 15 years. Currently Dr. Alexia teaches at the Transformational Arts College in Toronto.

Dr. Alexia works with individuals to optimize their vitality from a place of balance. Having experienced burnout firsthand, Dr. Alexia learned that burnout is a purposeful and powerful state of transition. She also works with individuals to promote digestive health, strengthen immunity, improve joint health and enhance sexual/reproductive health.

Dr. Alexia’s approach is evidence informed, integrative and holistic, where thoughts, emotions, physicality and inner awareness are interconnected. When one area is misaligned, the whole is impacted and we no longer thrive. In addition to her naturopathic medical training, Dr. Alexia is certified in Inter-Professional Mindfulness Meditation, Transformative Mindfulness and as a Level 1 Qi Gong instructor. She is also Certified Professional Coach and offers Life Coaching sessions.

Dr. Alexia is NPLEX certified and registered with CONO (College of Naturopaths of Ontario). She continues to learn and deepen her own growth and training through naturopathic conferences as well as courses in mind body medicine, epigenetics, core shamanism, and metaphysics – where science and ancient wisdom are equally valued.

Dr. Alexia has presented at various conferences organizations including; the University of Toronto, Healing Skies Naturopathic Conference, Collaborative Education, and the American Association for Naturopathic Medical Education.

Dr. Alexia feels incredibly grateful to offer truly holsitic health care, and to honour our environment in our healing. The individuals she work with inspire her to walk her talk.

Dr. Kristie Vucic’s main passion lies in helping those with chronic and complex health issues regain control of their lives. As someone who had chronic Lyme disease for almost 20 years, she understands first-hand how easy it is to feel frustrated and powerless over your mind and body – being passed from doctor to doctor, being told that all your tests are normal and that your symptoms are in your head. As a result of her personal experiences, it’s become her mission to show patients that they are more than just their symptoms, and that they can regain control over their lives. For Dr. Kristie, it’s not just about helping you manage your condition – it’s about showing you that you are not defined by your disease.

Dr. Kristie graduated in 2019 from The Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. She is a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND), the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND) and is licensed and registered with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO). She has also received a Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) from Western University.

Dr. Kristie has obtained certificates from accredited organizations for advanced training in many areas including pain management, chronic fatigue, skin issues and digestive concerns. Her clinical areas of interest include a variety of health concerns such as chronic pain, chronic fatigue, Lyme disease and co-infections, digestive concerns, skin issues, hormonal imbalances, and auto-immune conditions. She helps individuals regain control of their lives by optimizing their nutrition, managing their stress, improving their energy and sleep, re-setting their digestive system, and empowering them to live their best life.

Dr. Julie is the owner and Clinic Director of Markham Village Naturopathic Clinic. She graduated with a B.A.Sc. (Hons) from the University of Guelph in 1993 with the intention of completing a Master’s degree in in family therapy until she realized many of the people she met in counselling had emotional challenges with underlying issues of hormone imbalances, fertility struggles and pain that were not being optimally addressed by conventional medicine at the time. This, in addition to her own personal health issues that didn’t seem to have answers, she became dedicated to studying ways to address the “root cause” of dis-ease through nutrition, herbal medicine, homeopathy and yoga and eventually found her home when she discovered the field of naturopathy. She immediately changed her life plan and never looked back, signing up for another five years of full-time training in medical sciences and graduating from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in 1999. She completed the Therapeutic Prescribing Exam in 2016 to add the controlled act of prescribing to her clinical toolbox. Dr. Julie is NPLEX certified and registered with CONO (College of Naturopaths of Ontario). She is an active member of the OAND (Ontario Association of Naturopathic Medicine), the CAND (Canadian Association of Naturopathic Medicine) and the AARM (American Association of Restorative Medicine). Dr. Julie is a dedicated lifelong learner and regularly participates in continuing education for advanced women’s health issues, bioidentical hormone prescribing, fertility, menopause and more so she can stay on top of research in both conventional and complementary medicine to improve the care she can provide in her practice. She has been interviewed on television, lectured for the University of Toronto, written articles for several publications, consulted for corporate health and wellness centers and regularly acts as a mentor for students and new practitioners. In addition to addressing her patients’ presenting health concerns, Dr. Julie considers true health to be a balance of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Her ability to actively listen and take the time to see the whole picture of what is happening in a person’s health and life allows her to recommend effective individualized and manageable treatment plans. When not in the clinic, Dr. Julie enjoys community projects, gardening, hot yoga, cycling, cooking, travel, getting lost in the forest and mostly spending time with her family.
